In Ontario, “Pre-Retrofit” audits will stop being accepted as of Feb 29th 2024. Alberta and the prairies have a different system but we expect to see a similar situation by spring or summer 2024. Greener Homes Grant team has informed us “first half of 2024” as an expected timeline. They will then run out of money (so hit up your MP to fill up that funding!) This does not end the program for interest free loans, but will effectively stop you from accessing the grant.
You can avoid being left out and missing the $5,000 by signing up for your NRCan Greener Homes Grant Portal account and selecting an energy audit company (any one) and receiving an AP number.
We suggest THE ENERGUY (Energuy Holdings Ltd) as a great provider but there are many choices in the list. Mention SolarNinjas Energy Solutions when you call ENERGUY and they will give you $100 discount on their service.
You do not need to rush out and buy solar. Do not let anyone pressure you to sign a sales agreement. At SolarNinjas we hope you will take your time and make an informed choice, and let us be your best option for solar and electrical!
However, you need to get that PRE RETROFIT audit booked as soon as possible.
After that, you can continue your shopping and research.. we understand you may or may not hire us but we’re happy to see you get your slice of the solar pie.
Even if you are not sure 100% that you will go solar or do other retrofit work it is very important you sign up and get that AP # registered as soon as possible, and book that initial audit visit.
