William Hawrelak Park is a widely visited park and destination in Edmonton, Alberta. It is formerly called “Mayfair Park” and initially planned to be developed as a 500-lot subdivision. According to Mayor William Hawrelak, the area perfectly fits the city’s overall park development along with picnic areas, golf courses, and lines of the zoo. In 1982, it was renamed to honor Hawrelak, who died in his office while serving Edmonton in 1975.
