Edmonton Muttart Conservatory

It opened in 1976 and was designed by Peter Hemingway, an award-winning Canadian architect. Since then, this destination welcomes visitors of all ages.
Muttart Conservatory is best-known for its tranquil and vibrant pyramid display gardens. The four-themed pyramids are composed of Tropical, Feature, Temperate, and Arid. The Feature pyramid’s exhibits change anywhere from five to seven times per year.

Self-Guided Tours
You can explore the pyramids on your own by following a QR code posted at each pyramid’s entrance or using the facility’s printed maps. Each tour lasts up to 15 minutes.
Guided Pyramid Tours
Knowledge and friendly interpreters will lead the guided pyramid tours. The tours are free with facility admission and allow you to learn about various plants from different parts of the world. The tour themes vary and last up to 20 minutes per pyramid.
Programs and Courses
You can choose from different art and plant care programs and courses designed to families, kids, and adults. Caring for houseplants and making living frames and mini terrariums are some of the courses for adults. School and group programs are also available to teach children about the basic plant growth strategies and the importance of plants.

How to Get There
98th Avenue, Connors Rod, and Scona Road are the major roads around the Muttart Conservatory. You can use the ETS trip planner to learn how to take transit to it. A free parking park is available. Outside the conservatory, you will find a large paved parking space. Wheelchair access is also available.
