What to Do & See
Here are some of the things you can and do while you visit the Edmonton Valley Zoo.
- Animal talks
Each day, the zoo puts on a different animal talk around the area. Some regular talks involve seal talks, reindeer talks, elephant talks, and Canadian carnivore talks. Isn’t it awesome? You can report to the location of that animal’s area to begin the talks.
Zoo professionals manage these talks, and it is such an excellent way to learn more about various animals. You will understand the foods they eat, what their habitats are like in the wild, and whether they are social species or like solitude instead.
- Arctic Shores Exhibit
The zoo is very dedicated to saving polar bear habitats globally. Zoo visitors can go to this exhibit to see polar bears up close and find out more about what’s happening to their habitat. The Arctic Shores Exhibit strives to teach visitors and help encourage them to get out there and save these amazing animals as well as their homes.
- Zoominescence
In case you didn’t know, this is a light festival held at the Edmonton Valley Zoo each winter. The festival puts on stunning artistic lights display throughout the zoo. That’s something truly astonishing after the sun goes down.
There’s a theme every year, and artists throughout the country send their entries to participate in the light festival and highlight their artistic flair. Winners are picked based on votes from residents.
- Honeybee Hives
The zoo also created a honeybee hive helping boost the pollination within the location. They also built bee hotels where native bee species could lay their eggs and reproduce to boost the bee population within Edmonton.
You can go to the hives when you visit the Edmonton Valley Zoo and find out more about the big role of bees in our nature.
